Contracted accounts

Standing volume, a named correspondent, and a record that can be read afterwards.

A contracted account is not a catalogue of products. It is a written understanding of lanes, capacity, and how the house will answer when something is irregular.

The account

The methods are the same. The relationship is not.

Written instruction, named custody, and a scan record still govern every consignment. What changes is that the house already knows the lanes you use, the documents you keep, and the person who may be called when a movement is held.

What the contract covers

A named correspondent

Irregularities are referred to a person who already holds the account—not to an unattended queue. That is the whole of the arrangement.

Standing volume

Capacity and charges are agreed in writing. They are not re-quoted against a public tariff each time an instruction is placed.

The record of the movement

Scans, exceptions, and proof of delivery are kept so the journey may be read by the customer or under the terms of carriage. A feed of that record can be opened where the account requires it.

Open an account

Write to the house with the lanes you intend to use.

Include expected volume, origin and destination, and whether brokerage is required. A specialist will answer with the terms—not a brochure.

Charges for a single movement remain under rates and quotations. To place an instruction now, see schedule a shipment.

Operations will take the account from here.
